Namibian jail authorities have banned recruitment of individuals with seen tattoos as a part of efforts to guard prisons’ picture, a neighborhood newspaper reviews.
The choice follows considerations that some jail officers bear tattoos related to felony gangs, in response to the Namibian Solar.
The Namibia Correctional Companies (NCS) commissioner-general, Raphael Hamunyela, stated seen tattoos weren’t a great reflection of the service.
He stated the nation’s recruitment coverage and the code of conduct can be amended to make sure that in future no individual with seen tattoos is recruited into the NCS.
“New tattoos represent a disciplinary offence,” Mr Hamunyela was quoted as saying.
The names of correctional officers bearing tattoos will subsequently even be taken for record-keeping.
