China has stepped up stress on Taiwan since Tsai Ing-wen was first elected president of the self-ruled island in 2016.

Honduras has stated it’s trying to open formal diplomatic ties with the Individuals’s Republic of China.

The nation has formal hyperlinks with Taiwan and must break that relationship if it determined to recognise China, which views the self-governed island of 23 million individuals as its personal territory with no proper to state-to-state ties.

China has stepped up efforts to isolate the self-ruled island diplomatically since Tsai Ing-wen was first elected president in 2016.
